Library Visitors Prepare To Be Spellbound As Final Harry Potter Book Is Launched
(Reporter7.com 2007-07-11) County Clare, IRELAND, 11th July 07 - The launch of the eagerly anticipated final instalment in the Harry Potter series of books will be marked by events in the Ennis, Killaloe and Shannon branches of Clare County Library next week.
Ciara McParland, a creative expression workshop facilitator for children, will present hour long workshops on Friday 20th July, the eve of the launch of JK Rowling's 'Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows'.
"Having enthralled children for almost a decade, the final Harry Potter will be launched in Clare on 21st July. With everyone desperate to get their hands on the final instalment in the series the forthcoming workshops are set to raise the excitement levels", stated Patricia Fitzgerald, Executive Librarian, Children's Services, Clare County Library.
She added, "The fancy dress workshop is designed to be a fun and exciting educational adventure for children with the aim of bringing participants on an imaginary journey into the magical world of Harry Potter and his life at Hogwarts School of Wizardry."
"The workshop will aim to increase participant's passion for reading and learning by actively engaging them in the literary world that is particularly accessible and exciting to children. Through role-play, story telling, drama, quizzes and games children are encouraged to explore and dramatise the books characters. Participants are then prompted to widen and demonstrate their literary knowledge through a series of short discussions based on some of the themes present in J.K Rowling's book", Ms. Fitzgerald concluded.
The two best-dressed Harry Potter characters from each workshop will receive a copy of J.K. Rowling's latest book after its official publication date of Saturday 21st July.
All workshops take place on 20th July at the following times: Killaloe Library (11am); Sean Lemass Library, Shannon (2pm); and DeValera Library, Ennis (4pm). Places are limited to 30 children per workshop.
