Jacksonville, Fla. (May 3, 2007) - Hyatt Regency Jacksonville Riverfront is proud to announce its' own Gary Gotling as Hyatt Hotels and Resorts' winner of Director of Sales of the year for 2006. Gotling was nominated in March and in April the hotel received the official announcement that he had won the coveted title. Gotling has previously been nominated for the prestigious award three times and upon learning he had won for 2006, he remarked, 'I am very fortunate to have such a great staff to work with and a great hotel to sell. This belongs to the entire staff.-

Gotling has been in the Hotel Industry for 29 years and spent 23 of those years with Hyatt Hotels and Resorts. Beginning as a Front Desk agent in 1978, Gotling steadily advanced his career, working in Reservations, Convention Services, Food and Beverage and finally settling in on the Sales Department in 1987. He has been a Director of Sales at five different Hyatt properties including Savannah, Miami, Maui, Tampa and Jacksonville and has been the Director for two National Sales Teams of the Year as well as one Resort Marketing Team of the year.

Gotling has been with Hyatt Regency Jacksonville Riverfront as the Director of Sales since it took over the property on April 1, 2005. He moved here from Tampa, Florida with his wife of 17 years, his two children ages 12 and 10 and his beloved Chihuahua Jenny. 'I am extremely impressed with Jacksonville and all that it has to offer in not only a business sense, but also as a great place for raising a family,- Gotling stated, 'the warmth and hospitality that has been extended to me and my family is what really makes Jacksonville stand out.-

Gotling's next move as Director of Sales of the Year is to attend the Hyatt Masters, an annual conference of Hyatt's top Sales and Catering Directors at which future direction and policy for Hyatt is set. This year's conference is to be held at Hyatt Regency Century Plaza, located in the heart of Los Angeles' fashionable Westside.
