ODABA 11.0.0, a Terminology-Oriented Database Management System has been released
(Reporter7.com 2011-04-18) ODABA 11.0.0, a terminology-oriented database management system has been released. See the release announcement for details. Essential extensions have been made to the ODABA system model to improve data version and history support. ODABA now supports semi-structured data models and different text encodings for text fields
(UTF formats and several 8 bit encodings).
The ODABA API is now available in .NET and can be used with C# and other dialects. In order to provide necessary text encoding support for new text data types, the odaba::String class in the ODABA API has been redesigned.
With this version, we release the ODABA GUI framework and ODABA Development Environment (ODE). The GUI framework provides an application program interface (API) supporting ODABA Script Interface (OSI), C++ and .NET programming languages.
Data exchange has been improved and ODABA now supports file access as well as import/export features for comma separated files (CSV), extended self delimiter files (ESDF), object interchange format (OIF) and XML. Moreover, direct directory access is supported with this version.
With ODABA Media Player and Message Browser, two examples for OSI script applications and use of user controls have been provided. Another example for using user controls is the graphical presentation of class diagrams in the Class Editor (ODE).
